Adding Pictures and Stories

Welcome to Shelby Mustang Email List's web page at CarMemories.com. What we have is a very unique web based Shelby Mustang community. It was designed to allow members to add pictures and stories about cars themselves. Membership is free. You are welcome to contribute to this car community. And as a member, you build your own website and gallery by simply uploading your own images and stories. You can access your web page directly from outside CarMemories.com.

So how does it work. If you now something about computers and software you should understand when I say CarMemories.com is an on-line database. As a visitor, you can go to specific makes and models of cars, see images and read stories submitted by other members. That is the basic idea. As a member you can upload your own images and stories to the specific make and model of car you have. And if that particular make and model happens not to exist, just let us know. (All images and stories uploaded have to be ok'd by the site Administrator for security reasons. This is normally done daily. It may be 24 hours from when you upload an image before the image actually appears in the gallery.)

Become a Member: So the first step is to become a member or user. You have to "Create an Account". Here you let us know who you are, create a user name and a password. Once that is done and you want to add an image or story, go to "Member Login". This tells the system who is uploading anything. All uploads are tied to a user name. Yes, it is possible to upload and not be a registered member. The pictures will show up in the section  you choose (make and model.) But those uploads will not have a user name if you don't log in. Without a user name the pictures and stories will go to the anonymous username. Most things can be corrected from this end, though. Let me know if you uploaded anything and did not use your username. Click here to register as a member.

We want Shelby Mustang owners to fill this web site up. There is plenty of room for ALL the pictures you have of your car. The site will continuously evolve as members let us know what they would like. The team behind this site is a blend of car people and web wizards. If you want to help, drop us a line. We are looking for car people that know about different cars. The club section is dedicated to Shelby Mustangs (and other Shelby cars.) but there are many other cars on the main site. 

Joining a Club: For your images to be displayed in your club gallery, you have to be a member of CarMemories.com and also a member of your club gallery. If you are already a member of the site, and you want to become a member of the Shelby Mustang Email list "club", click here or use the link on the menu on the left to go to join this club.  In the password area enter "shelby". Joining this club then will pull all your images and stories to the Shelby Mustang list's web pages.

As a regular member of this site, the web page you end up with is a template from the database. You can select one of your images to display as a main image by using the "User Admin Tools" link on the left menu of the pages. You can also have a custom web page template by requesting assistance.

To access your web page directly, the address is http://www.carmemories.com/submitters/dennis. The last word is your username.
