| This picture shows the dash board of a '68 GT
500 KR owned by
Mark Ward. The Shelby Cobra Mustangs came from the Ford factory as
GT Mustangs. Mark's car is an automatic. You can see the carpeted
console and the wood grain on the dash. The door panels also had a wood
grain panel on them. The console included oil pressure and ammeter
gauges. The large round gauges in behind the steering wheel are a
speedometer and a tach on the right. If the car came with a
supercharger, two more gauges were installed below the two in the
console, on the left side would be a fuel pressure gauge, on the right a
manifold boost pressure gauge.
The seat belts were stock Mustang with Cobra insert in the middle.
The GT 350 to the left belongs to Dan
Post. Dan's car has the stock Ford 4 speed shifter. The extra gauges
over the glove box to the right are owner installed supercharger gauges.
Wood grain steering wheel was part of the package. In the center of
the wheel is another SHELBY COBRA emblem and a coiled snake.
To the right of the dash is a unique and different coiled snake and a
GT 350 or GT 500. The GT 500KR said Cobra Jet instead of GT 500. |
