The
front end of the 1968 was totally different from the other years.
The 68 also
had chrome trim around the mouth of the opening. The 67 and 68 Shelby
Mustang had a much larger opening than the stock Mustangs. This
is
Dennis
Begley's GT 350.
The hood and front
end (holding the headlights) were fiberglass and extended further than
the stock Mustang. The GT 350 and 500 had the same front end. Note the
stock Mustang bumper and headlights. The first '68 Shelby's came with Marchal driving lights inside the opening. After some problems and customer complaints, the Marchals were replaced with Lucas lights.
This car has Lucas.
Across the front of the hood are the letters SHELBY.
