| Ford continued the same Mustang body style into 1968, the next year would see a change. The GT 350 was powered by Ford's new 302 motor. For the first half of the year, The GT 500's carried the Ford 428 Police Interceptor, but mid-year Ford introduced the Cobra Jet 427. Shelby American introduced the GT 500 KR (King of the Road).
