The Shelby Mustang Newsletter
Issue 1 February 2002

left menu Welcome to the second issue of The Shelby Mustang List Newsletter. Planning to get this out earlier, but life sometimes gets in the way.

I made a visit to Shelby American in Vegas last week. Couldn't make it the prior week due to scheduling issues. Good to visit with them again. I missed the tour this time talking with Brent Fenimore, Leanne, and Bob Marsh. Things are happening out there. Unofficially they are talking about a 40th anniversary Cobra. Hard to believe its been almost 40 years. This Cobra will be a very limited production car. We are going to announce it to this group when and if its official. Sounds like we will get first chance to reserve one. There are some things that they want to do for car owners that can't be done officially by the factory. We are talking about using CarMemories.com to help that effort. I spent a lot of time with Bob Marsh. Bob is the only prior Shelby American employee that Shelby recruited for this effort. Bob is a tremendous resource for the Shelby Dodge efforts. He might be the only one left with the information. I am talking with Bob about bringing that info the to site to help out those owners. He showed me how much misinformation is out there. One thing he told me that ran a bell was how to tell a real Shelby Dodge. He is hesitant to release that info to keep people from making replicas and offering them as real Dodge Shelby's. If people know how to tell if they are real then that can be duplicated. Of course how do you tell if its real. That is a problem we are seeing with Shelby Mustangs. I pointed out to him it works both ways. So we are trying to figure out a way to solve that issue. He has a ton of information he got at the end of the project. He said he took it because no one else wanted it. I'll keep you posted.

I've always loved the Detomaso Panteras. Recently I set up a similar group to ours for those owners with an emailing list. If you are interested in Detomaso cars, click here to go to the Detomaso group at CarMemories.com.  There are a lot of Detomaso cars in the site. If you know of an owner send them to that page. The email list is active with 25 members. You can join the list on that page.

Do you have any ideas or suggestions? We want to hear from you. What do you need for your personal on-line presence? How about the Shelby Mustang emailing list? How can we assist your club?
