The Shelby Mustang Newsletter
Issue 1 January 2002

left menu Welcome to the first issue of The Shelby Mustang List Newsletter. This newsletter will be a monthly feature. This month I am going to share my vision of what we can make this list become. Figure that Shelby American produced almost 14,000 Shelby Mustangs. Add in the people out there that love Shelby Cars whether they own one or not and that is a lot of people. It is great having a tool to communicate instantly with all the members of this list. It provides a means of sharing information, asking questions, and discussing Shelby Mustang issues. This is something we should not keep as a secret.

CarMemories.com is the host site for The Shelby Mustang List. As many of you know it started as a Shelby Cars site and sprung from TheCarSource.com. To read more about the history of the sites and how your Editor, Dennis Begley, got involved, click here.  CarMemories is a very unique type of web site. It is an on-line database. Our whole purpose of doing the site was to build the best car community on the Internet. To do that we realized we needed to support car clubs with the site. The Shelby Mustang List is a "club" in CarMemories.com.

So where are we going from here? I have a vision of making this "list" the premier Shelby Car list on the 'Net. This newsletter is a major step in that direction. How do you know what is happening at CarMemories if I don't share it. The emailing list alone is a great idea, but I want to enhance the offering. We are discussing a lot of different things that can be offered through CarMemories. Some of the things we are talking about include:

  • A member option to design a personal car web site inside CarMemories. You would be able to make changes yourself to your personal website. Upload pictures, backgrounds, stories all to your own web page. And it would be displayed in our group gallery as well as the main site.
  • Email addresses like dbegley@carmemories.com
  • An online forum for our just our group
  • An on-line database to hold technical information. Imagine being able to search for specific information on car colors, model year details, engine specs, spark plug gaps, dwell, etc.
  • An online national schedule of events that you can search by location, date & make. What if you could look up what car shows or events are occurring on a cross country trip And the best part is people can add new information on-line.
  • A group specific classifieds for cars and parts for sale and wanted
  • A searchable archive for the emails we send including ALL the original ones from the beginning

Do you have any ideas or suggestions? We want to hear from you. What do you need for your personal on-line prescence? How about the ShelbyMustang emailing list? How can we assist your club?
