How this Site Works
Welcome to CarMemories.com. What we have is a very unique web based car community. It was designed to allow members to add pictures and stories about cars themselves. Basic membership is free. You are welcome to contribute to this car community. And as a member, you build your own website and gallery. So how does it work. If something about computers and software you should understand when I say CarMemories.com is an on-line database. As a visitor, you can go to specific makes and models of cars, see images and read stories submitted by other members. That is the basic idea. As a member you can upload your own images and stories to the specific make and model car you have. And if that particular make and model happens not to exist, just let us know. (All images and stories uploaded have to be ok'd by the site Administrator for security reasons. This is normally done 1-2X a day. It may be 24 hours from when you upload an image before the image actually appears in the gallery.) Become a Member: So the first step is to become a member or user. You have to "Create an Account". Here you let us know who you are, create a user name and a password. Once that is done and you want to add an image or story, go to "Member Login". This tells the system who is uploading anything. All uploads are tied to a user name. Yes, it is possible to upload and not be a registered member. The pics will show up in the chosen section or make and model. But those uploads will not have a user name. Most things can be corrected from this end, though. Click here to register as a member. We want car people to fill this web site up. The site will continuously evolve as members let us know what they would like. The team behind this is a blend of car people and web wizards. If you want to help, drop us a line. Joining a Club: One useful thing we discovered is we could tie multiple users to a "club". And someone could come off the internet directly to a "club" page. From the page, the visitor can see the images and pictures of members of that "club" ONLY. This is a great tool for displaying "club" cars. Members can upload their own images. That is an issue with a car club webmaster. To have a car gallery, you send your images to a person who has to build or add them to a web page. CarMemories eliminates that. Instead of emailing them to someone, upload them to your club gallery at CarMemories.com. For your images to be displayed in your club gallery, you have to be a member of CarMemories.com and also a member of your club gallery. If you are already a member of the site, and you want to become a member of your car club, click here to go to the club listing. Choose your club, on the next page, take the link that says "Join the Club" or "Join the Club Site". The drop down list should display the correct club. In the password area you can enter anything. We have not activated the real use of this question. Ultimately your club will have a unique password to identify actual members of the club. If you are not a dues paying member of the club and you just want to join it and then the club gallery here, you must contact the club itself. We just host the website.
