dealer history

Author:  (more...)

Hi to all,
I am brand new to this thread so I aplogize in advance if I screw
this up. I own a 67 500 67402F2U00636. Been in SAAC for many years
and have been able to get a little history on my car which actually
raised another couple questions. My car was completed by Ford San
Jose on 1/13/67,completed by Shelby 4/26/67 and shipped to "Pico
Rivera Inventory" until sent to "Stockton Quincy LA" on 10/5/67. My
Marti report reflects "DSO item # 4120" and "Dealer# 71262Q, Ford
Motor Company, Los Angeles Assembly Plant, Pico Rivera Ca 920682".
Enter the question- Why was this car completed in April but not
shipped until 5 Oct? Could car have been used by some Ford or Shelby
employee? This is my suspicion as California DMV records indicate
car was first sold in 1968. How many other 67's went to either
location- "Stocton-Quincy LA" or "Dealer# 71262Q, Ford Motor
Company, Los Angeles Assembly Plant, Pico Rivera, Ca" ? I have never
seen any reference to these places in any literature nor with
talking with others...does anyone have any info?
Thanks
Boss
