For anyone who needs help on sources for this car
Author: (more...)
Hey guys, I'm an avid car fan. I'm currently 26 years old and I own
a Lexus ES 300 and IS 300. I have a few sources that might interest
or help the serious fan to this Caroll Shelby Mustang.
The original, as you all know, gt 500 looks nothing as great as this
one. As a matter of fact, the one used to modify for the movie was
jsut a standard mustang. The headlights were up on the grill instead
of lowered like in the movie. ANYWAYS....
The car was modified and designed by Jim Foose. I believe he's out
in california and is one of the leading designers and award winners
for car modification. A mustang was given to him, with instruction
to modify, but still look stock. Anyhow, parts are available all
over the place on the internet. All the kits are usually designed
for the fastbacks or regular mustangs from 1967 to 1969. The kits
are soley bolt on. You can get a dented mustang for bout 2 or 3
grand, and buy the kit for the same price. If you jut want a look,
its easy to finish one up for under 20 grand.
