Jack purchased this car in June, 1998. It was checked
for Authenticity and certified
by the Sunbeam Tiger Owners Assoc. in The United on Oct.9, 1998.
It made two passes down the drag strip 1/4 mile, time:
14.3 sec. @95 mph. Installed, bolt-in roll bar. I got Antique tags for it
in June, 1999.
This is an early car, the 161st one made in 1964. It originally had a 260
motor but now has a 1968 Ford Mustang 302, mild cam, Holley aluminum
intake, Edelbrock carb., headers, Accel coil and distributor, cast alum.
Tiger valve covers. Car is red (original color) with black interior in
good shape. The Tiger has 3 inch lap and shoulder belts. The
black convertible top is 4 years old and has red matching hardtop. Has
bolt-on traction bars and Cromedora wheels. Have stock wheels and three
hubcaps. Has posi-rear and 3.70 gears. Car was painted in the 80's and has
not had any body or paint work done on it
since. Car is rust-free. Paint is not perfect. I have the grill
centerpiece for the car and many of the stock parts. I also have a 260
Tiger motor, but it is not from this car. Car looks good and runs great. 4
speed with Hurst shifter, L.A.T.(Los Angeles Tiger) hood, also have stock
hood painted to
match the car, also have chrome strip for the side of the car (new in box). (Jack Smith sold this Tiger in 2001.)
