My car is about to be changed again. I'm building a
street motor for it with aluminum heads and several other upgrades. What I
want is a car that I can show and drive on the street. The 500 hp
engine in the car is great on the track where it has been for the last few
years, but miserable on the street. I also intend to repaint the car in
black. It is a straight car with no rust ever and it will match my 1967
Mustang fastback (an old movie car). Before I get too far affield, let me
explain. I'm a retired police officer and have a restoration shop for
sports and racing cars, classics and street rods, here in central Oregon.
I'm also a dealer for Scott Drake Mustang parts.

The Pantera, 2863, was built next to 2864, the famous
Candy group 4 race car. That car is currently for sale on the P.I. website
for a large chunk of change. I have another Pantera for sale that belonged
to my best friend of 25 years, who passed away last year. It's a 1973 L
with a 700 hp twin turbo 351 Cleveland in the engine compartment. It also
has never seen rust and is a wonderful car to drive. The current asking
price is $37,500.00, and is well worth it. I'll include a photo.
I also have another wreck that was used as a parts car by some
acquaintances a few
years ago. One quarter of the car is gone and the rest is pretty bent up.
It does have
some good pieces and it is possible it will be turned into a dedicated
track, group4 clone in the near future. My wife insists that I finish her
Mustang (the 1967 Fastback) and the repaint of 2863 before I touch the
clone racer. I like to keep her happy as it allows me to have such
wonderful machinery.
I'll be doing an article on 2863 for the P.I. magazine shortly and will
send you some
photos as we do the build and re-paint. It will probably be in the fall
before the project
gets started. I'll keep you posted. For now, please use the photos of the
car on your
site.
