High school memory
Author: (more...)
In the early sixties, when I was about 16, a neighborhood guy about 2
years older was injured in a taxicab accident and hurt his left elbow.
He was awarded about $40,000 if I recall correctly and traded his
1953 Oldsmobile for a new Griffith. Every young guy in town just
drooled over this car in disbelief. How could you put such a big
engine in such a tiny car? It was the first car I really lusted after
and vowed to own someday, but, of course, I didn't follow through. I
imagine I would have a hard time getting into it now.
