The Mustang from scrap metal
Author: (more...)
My dad would always tell me stories about him and his cars he had
when he was young. He told me once that he was a tire testor for the
goodyear company down in little rock, Arkansas when he was 17. He was
going 215 MPH in a 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT 500. It was candyapple
red. All four tires blew out on him, he flipped the car over 26 times
and destroyed the car.He broke his right arm, three ribs and his
ankle. Some people say the Ford Company sucks, but when you put some
thought into it and come out with a supercharged Mustang, you got
your car. When he woke up in the hospitol he asked to see what the car
looked like. All they could say was maybe you will find it soemday.
He did. When I was 11 years old he would take me driving and look for
cool cars. One day we saw a candyapple red Mustang sitting in some
guys yard. It was destroyed. My dad bought it for $200 and brought it
home a week later. He looked at it for a while and then got the pic
of the car he totalled out of a box. It was the same one. He was so
happy to accually have it, he invited all his friends over to strip
it down so he could rebuild it. But he never did.He told me to get it
done because I liekd cars so much. He taught me everything about cars
and i was very close to it being finished. We got mostly everything
installed and everything just right except for the color of the body,
the shitfter, and the carb. About a week later he died froma heart
attack. Then I found out something that was the best thing ever. He
molded every single part of the engine for me, it was all custom
made.Right now i have a 900 hp v8 in my mustang with 2 superchargers
and a chrome breather.I will always be proud of it and someday i will
pass it to my kids.
