There was one GT 500 Coupe or hardtop built. It was called "Little Red". The car was built for Fred Goodell, a Ford engineer, who became the chief engineer at Shelby American in California. This coupe was a prototype car with a 427 motor and twin turbochargers. It was destroyed by Ford. One other 1967 was built. It was the prototype for the 1968 convertibles. It started as a 67 convertible, was converted to a 68, stolen, stripped and redone again as a 68 Shelby convertible. The early 68 Shelby convertible promo pictures show a 68 with 67 hood pins. That this the car. It is reportedly in Illinois in the hands of the Volvo Museum.
