This section of Shelby Cars in The Car Source.com is here to offer some
assistance to those interested in doing some restoration on
an early Mustang & Shelby. Maybe you haven't done much of
it before or just have a question.
I've done my share of keeping a couple of Mustangs on the road for
20+ years. I own a 1966 Mustang V-8 Coupe and a 1968 GT 350 Shelby
Cobra. The '66 I've
had since high school, we won't talk about how long that is. The Shelby
I picked up years later, about 15 years ago. I have a number of friends
that have much more experience & knowledge than I do, you know the guys you call
when you're stuck. Practically anyone with some determination, a set of
tools and some reference books can fix or restore an old Mustang. (Let's add common
sense and patience to that list, too.) Now, there are some jobs best left
to a more experienced hand but even the experts had to learn somewhere along the
path. This section will be more basic stuff, for now.
I'm going to break this into sub-sections to make it easier to locate
the information you need. Use the menu to the left to find your area of
interest. There is an overview article in the restoration and repair
sections to read first, particularly if you are new to this part of the hobby.

Much thanks to my long time friend, Biff Hitzeman, for leading me
down
this path. Without his guidance, assistance and support I would not have
found my GT 350 much less restored it. He got me re-interested in
Mustangs. Without that rebirth of interest I would not be typing this
information out. Biff has restored more classic
cars than most body shops himself, maybe we can get him to contribute to
this section.
