I currently own this 1966 GT350 Shelby Mustang,
serial number SFM6S587. It came from Shelby American as a Black and
Gold Hertz car. The color was changed in 1985 due to the current
owner's preference when he had the car restored. It is now Red
with White stripes.
The car is also one of the rare 4 speed Hertz
cars. Most of the Hertz cars came with the C-4 automatics
transmission. This car did not last long as a Hertz car because it
was taken out of the Hertz fleet 3-6 months after being put in
service. After about 3,000 miles the car received some minor front
end damage and was retired. The odometer now reads 67,xxx miles.
