Bought
new by Captain James W, Gregg Jr. 26th Sept 1967 from Bedford Motors Corp, E. Main
St, Bedford, Virginia. Gregg owned car for two years, fitted Hurst shifter
during first year then took car to Key West Florida where he attended naval college,
headers fitted & power steering removed. Sold car to Bob Bordeux in 1969 no
trace found. Probably the guy who removed the dual quads and fitted a single four-barrel
& manifold. Bought
by Ken & Shiley Young Green Bay Wisconsin 1971 from Ford dealer De, Pere
Ford for $2100 drove car to Road Atlanta Georgia sold car to Tony Mazzelini approx,
1973 Green Bay Wisconsin paid $1800 used oil & oiled plugs on 1 bank sold
to Kevin Jones Green Bay Wisconsin in Sept 1974. Jones fitted battery to trunk,
electric fuel pump & Mickey Thompson Tires had approx 65,000 miles on clock
paid $2,300 for car. Jones sold car to
Garry Kazia in 1977 Mancos Denver Colorado, no trace found Kazia sold car to
Blake L, Mitchell Mancos Colorado approx 1982, Engine burned oil badly &
eventually dropped valve head damaging piston, con rod & bore. Engine
rebuilt, bored +030 crank ground all-010 some new valves fitted headers removed
& original exhaust manifolds refitted approx 73,000 miles on clock. Car put
into storage in 1986 & sold to Jack Bell Denton Texas in 1991 car sold to
Dallas Mustang in 1993 that stored car for 2 years then sold car back to Jack
Bell who again stored the car. Imported to
England by Steve Blackett 11th July 1997 & collected from Liverpool Docks. The
car was & is in a totally rust free condition the only work needing to be
carried out for the M.O.T. Test being the overhaul of the brakes e.g. new rear
wheel cylinders & shoes freeing front calipers fitting new master cylinder
& new diaphragm kit to servo. Other work
carried out on the car has been the fitting of a full new exhaust system, replacing
the Hurst gear shifter with the original 4 speed shifter, fitting new bearings
& seals to the gearbox & complete new cluth assembly, overhauling dual
four barrel carbs & refitting to engine, removing aftermarket dual point
distributor & fitting original ford dual point distributor, refitting
original power steering assembly which had been removed to fit headers, fitting
4 new tyre’s to replace ones which had perished with standing for many years. White Le-Mann’s stripes
added, passengers door mirror, new antenna, gas cap emblem & new door
window felt & seals fitted the original mileage on the car is now
74,660. Rev counter
removed recalibrated & refitted, clock repaired, dash Signed by Carroll
Shelby & Lee Holman of Holman-Moody Charlotte N.C. Car featured in
Classic American magazine September 1998, Centrespreads signed by Carroll
Shelby. New ring &
pinion fitted 3.25 -1, new fuel pump fitted with screw on filter. |
